The Sexton Junction has been a huge concern to local residence for a number of years. I have raised this issue with the council on a number of occasions and continue to do so especially due to the number of new houses and people in the area. This junction is a Health & Safety Issue to everyone but especially young school going children and elderly people.
Update: 03 May 2023 – email sent to Louth County Council
“I am the chairman of the Haggardstown tidy towns and have two areas that I would like to discuss with you. One area is the Sextons road Junction which I have some pictures attached. This is of great concern, and which has been brought to our attention. I had said we would make an enquiry. The Sexton’s, Marlebog road staggered junction is just about impassable now for cars and children and old people cannot get across either walking or on Bikes. I have attached a newspaper article and a video of the junction. I think traffic lights may be the only alternative, or a roundabout, but certainly some type of traffic calming before something serious might happen.”
