About Me

I was born in July 1972, and grew up in the small village of Blackrock, outside Dundalk in Co Louth. I had two brothers and a sister and went to St Oliver Plunket’s primary school, and then on to the Marist in Dundalk.

After working in Construction for a few years after I had left school, I joined the ESB in Monaghan where I served my time as an overhead Lines technician. I left the ESB in the early 90,s and got into Wind Turbines and worked in Wales and throughout the UK building powerlines to wind farms.

I returned home to Ireland and got back into Construction for roughly ten years before I returned to college to do a degree in both Food supply chain and then Health and Safety. I now work as a Health and Safety consultant working with many large and medium size companies around Ireland. I enjoy this very much.

I played Football at an early age with the Geraldines and since finishing football, have been an active member of the Geraldines committee where I have held a number off officer positions. I enjoyed all types off activity. I also, have many interests in different sports like Golf, Athletics, Swimming, Cycling, Soccer and Politics.

In 2001, I built a house in Haggardstown and moved there. I got married to Orla in 2012 and have 3 children now. My children attend the local school, and have involved me in lots of different community activities as they have got older, and this helps me spend as much time with them as possible. They are members of The Geraldines, Rock Celtic, Dundalk Rugby Club and Blackrock Athletic Club.

We started the Haggardstown Tidy Towns in 2020 and I get great enjoyment from this type off work with the community. I have been Chairman of this committee since it started and take an active part in the Parents council of the local Primary school. Being so active in the local community, it made me realise how important our local county council and local governence is to our community. This has made me more interested in trying to make a difference for our local community. I have decided to run at the next local elections in June 2024 in Dundalk South.

Blackrock and Haggardstown have not had a local councillor voted in for many years now and there is a real need to have a local voice now, especially with the growth of the population within our area. Please look at my campaign manifesto link above to read what areas of concern I have and what changes I would like to see made in Dundalk South for the next 5 years after the elections if I am successful.
